THOMASTON, CT, May 6, 2013 ̢— Today at the 2013 Offshore Technology Conference, Ward Leonard announced their new 1,150 horsepower AC drilling motor for running mud pumps, draw works, and rotary tables. The 1,150 is engineered to provide maximum productivity and rugged performance in the toughest oil and gas environments where rigs operate ̢— either on land or offshore.
“Every Ward Leonard motor and control system is designed to meet or exceed rigorous customer specifications, and this horizontal 1,150 is no exception,” said Ward Leonard President Michael Clute. “Our engineers put this motor through its paces, subjecting it to hours of underwater testing in addition to the third-party testing conducted by the American Bureau of Ship Building. Our products power vital equipment in extremely corrosive conditions, which is why we are dedicated to producing benchmark motors and controls for our customers.”
The Ward Leonard 1,150 horizontal motor (WL22B115H) features form wound stator windings and a Certified Class H, fully vacuum pressure impregnated insulation system to protect the motor from the elements and extend product life.
