Thomaston, CT (December 6, 2019) The U.S. Navy will be christening a brand new aircraft carrier, John F. Kennedy, the second ship of the Ford-class, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Newport News Shipbuilding. The Ford-class’ unique engineering and design innovations increase mission effectiveness, reduce workload for sailors, and lower operating costs for the U.S. Navy. “It was our distinct honor to have contributed to the construction of this great vessel, providing motors, motor controllers, and other electrical subsystems” remarked Chris Spafford, VP of Sales and Marketing of Ward Leonard.
