THOMASTON, CT — The New 1150 Form Wound AC Drilling Motor was launched by Ward Leonard Electric Company at the 2012 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), held in Houston, TX, from April 30th to May 3rd. This year’s successful OTC event showcased the 1150 Form Wound, as well as a complete line of Ward Leonard AC drilling motors, power controls and custom design solution capabilities.
The 1150 Form Wound, also referred to as WL20B115 Vertical Mount AC Drilling Motor, is suitable for use with a variety of applications and technologies. It is designed to endure rigorous high shock and vibration conditions for decades of continuous service in the harshest rig duty environments. The WL20B115 1150 HP motor features a certified Class H – fully taped and sealed – insulation system that provides a solid barrier to dust, sand, oil and water and helps to extend the life of the motor. Manufactured to have a maximum temperature rise of 105?C , the WL20B115 is available in horizontal or vertical orientations for mud pump, draw works rotary table and top drive applications.
