THOMASTON, CT ̢— Ward Leonard CT LLC held its first Veteran’s Day ceremony today at their Thomaston facility, honoring and thanking all Veterans, both presently serving and those who have served in the past, including sixteen Ward Leonard employees.

The flagpole ceremony started with a formal presenting of the colors and raising of the flag, Pledge of Allegiance and moment of silence as employee Peter Ruggeri played “Taps” on his bugle. This was all part of a dignified ceremonial tribute to those who have protected our country and the freedom which the United States of America represents.

“I thought it was very good to do this and for the company to acknowledge the veterans,” said Ruggeri, who served in the 101st Airborne Division Army, during the Vietnam War.

Having manufactured and supplied motors and controls for virtually every ship in the United States Navy and the military for more than 120 years, Ward Leonard has had a very real presence, representation and connection with our Veterans and the mission-critical operations they have served and died for.

“Ward Leonard is proud of its sixteen heroes who represent most of the branches of the Armed Services. We thank them for their sacrifice, valor and courage in defense of our freedom,” said Sam Aconfora, Director of Human Resources for the company.
