Efforts from the Entire Company to Benefit the Thomaston Public Library and Toys for Tots
THOMASTON, CT, December 22, 2016 ― Ward Leonard, a Thomaston-based global industrial technology company, announced today that it raised $3,500 from its annual Holiday Employee Raffle and received over 250 new employee-donated toys that it will collectively distribute to local community service and charity programs as part of its Community Support Program.
The company will donate the $3,500 to the Thomaston Public Library, which was received by Dick Benfer, Treasurer, and Mary Ann Martin, Member at Ward Leonard’s offices (see photo). The funds were raised by raffling off a series of gifts acquired through the company’s Corporate American Express Rewards Points aggregated throughout the year, and from generous donations made by Atlantic Fasteners, EIS Inc., Hoyt Corporation, Ram Welding, Suburban Stationers, The Goose and Gander, USI Insurance Services LLC and U-Line.
Ward Leonard also made a donation of over 250 new toys for the local chapter of Toys for Tots, a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. All toys were purchased by company employees specifically for donation, and were received by Lance Corporal Aiello and Lance Corporal Le (see photo.)
Recognized for their help in planning and coordinating the fundraiser are Ward Leonard Events Committee members Alicia Cobas, Lynne Jablonski, Fiona McAllister, Dave Miele, Kim Plourde, Susan Polzella, Raul Rodriguez, Pamela Sheehan and Irek Rychlik.
“Ward Leonard is proud to have our Corporate headquarters located in Thomaston, and the purpose of our fundraising and donation programs is to support and give back to our community”, said Mike Clute, President. “Every year we hope to help those in need during the holiday season, and look forward to continuing this tradition.”
